Really, it’s OK to poop…

The other day I had a very interesting conversation with my nanny.

We’ve been struggling with my toddler son and potty training, and he simply refuses to poop on the potty.

So in the car the other day, he tells his nanny that mommy doesn’t have a bum and she doesn’t poop!

Obviously she clarified the issue…and later that day, he started to show an interest (FINALLY) in using the potty for #2.

So I’m thinking – was that really his (excuse the pun) blockage? Did he simply think that because Mommy doesn’t poop on the potty, he doesn’t need to either??

And I started to think about this a bit…how many times have we made assumptions about people, about our lives, and about our businesses, that are completely wrong, yet affect our thoughts and actions?

For example, when I started out in my online business, I assumed there was some sort of “secret” no one was telling me. That everyone was saving their best stuff (in terms of marketing and advertising) for themselves and not sharing it.

This started to develop into a bit of paranoia then anger towards certain people around me.

But guess what? It was all in my head.

There’s no “secret” formula to being successful at home. Anyone who is disciplined, driven and eager to learn new skills can be successful.

So the moral to my story here is…be cautious in your assumptions. If you’re unsure, ASK. Otherwise, you might be in a diaper for a long time.

hahahaha….great analogy…never thought about it that way. Unfortunately, I’ve assumed about alot of things in my life and surprisingly it almost never turns out to be productive.

It’s time to shed the diaper!
